Chaska, Minn. – The first day of regular Section play turned out to be quite a competitive one at Chaska Town Course for the first of the Luther Pro Series events. There was a 2-way tie for first place in the four-ball event, with the teams of Scott Cole, PGA (RTG Golf)/Erik Toftner, PGA (Hiawatha GC) and Kris Kroetsch, PGA (Fargo CC)/Dan Tannahill, PGA (King’s Walk GC) carding 8-under par 64.
Cole/Toftner had an easy go of the front 9, carding birdies on 3 of the first 4 holes, and adding two more before the turn on 7 and 9. Kroetsch/Tannahill also birdied 3 of the first 4 on the front, and then added 5 more birdies on the back nine.
Chris Borgen of Lost Spur in Eagan, Minn. had a Hole-in-One on the 144 yard 4th hole and claimed $250 from event partner Hole-in-One USA. Chris also earned a share of the Minnesota Section’s 2020 Hole-in-One Club, which will be split at the end of year with all Hole-in-Ones in certain Section events. New partner this year, SmartPin powered by Ace Golf Technologies, contributed $2,000 to the Hole-in-One club this season.
Other Partners of the event were PTE Golf and Golf Pro Payments. This is the third year of the Luther Tour Series partnership with Luther Tour Automotive Group.
