Professional Nate Deziel, who won the @MNGolfAssn Amateur Championship at @Mvcc_Golf in 2024, cards an opening-round 68 to finish in a share of fourth with fellow professional Muzzy Donohue and amateurs Landon Miller and Peyton Coahran.

Beginning his round with an eagle and finishing with a birdie from 25 feet, two-time champ @AndrewMcCain is in at 6-under 67.

"Good start, good finish. I definitely want to win a third time. Doing something again 11 years later would be pretty cool."

Playing first tournament round since the MN Golf Champions last fall at @mplsgolfclub, Matt Armstrong posts a 6-under 67 to begin the 109th Minnesota State Open.

"I wasn't really expecting much. Just happy to be out here. Kind of limped in, but happy with how I played today."

DuToit, who defeated Sammy Schmitz and Clayton Rask in a playoff in 2013 at Edinburgh USA, sits atop the leaderboard after an opening-round 66.

"Getting off to a hot start–you get to 12 and 13 and realize you're having a really good day, so let's take advantage of ...this."
