SHAFRANSKI & PANSCH RECEIVE HOLIDAY SCHOLARSHIPS
Grant Shafranski from The Minikahda Club and Scott Pansch from Bent Creek GC are the 2012 receipients of the Holiday Apprentice Scholarships. Awarded monies from this scholarship help offset the costs associated with progressing through the PGA-PGM program.

SINKSEN WINS SEASON LONG MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
Danny Sinksen from Elmwood Park GC defeated Brian Seiwert from Bearpath G&CC 3&2 in the championship match of the Assistant's Season Long Match Play Championship. In the third place match, Jacob Dewitz from Eastwood GC defeated Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC 1 Up. Match Play Bracket

SMITH WINS ASSISTANT'S EVENT #5
Andy Smith from Superior National GC shot 1-over par, 73 to win Assistant's Event #5 at Dacotah Ridge GC. In a three-way tie for second and one stroke back was Chris Borgen from Hastings CC, Noah Lawson from Castlewood GC and Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC. This event was also had a pro-am component in which each Assistant professional brought one amateur partner; and the team of Chris Bailey from North Oaks GC and his partner Mike Ritzer fired a best-ball score of 11-under par, 61 to lead all teams. Special thanks to Assistant's Chapter Board member Tim Brovold for organizing the event along with host professional Eric Hildreth at Dacotah Ridge GC. Final Results

LACOURSIERE WINS ASSISTANT'S EVENT #4
Pete LaCoursiere from Southview CC shot 4-under par, 68 to win Assistant's Event #4 at Chaska Town Course. The other two under par rounds belonged to Jacob Dewitz from Eastwood GC (69) and Chris Borgen from Hastings CC (71). Special thanks to Assistant's Chapter Board member CJ Meyer for organizing the event along with John Kellin at Chaska Town Course for hosting. Final Results

MURDY WINS ASSISTANT'S EVENT #3
Jonathan Murdy from Moccasin Creek CC shot the only sub-par round of the day to win Assistant's Event #3 at Somerset CC. One stroke back at even par were Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC and Scott Cole from New Richmond GC. Special thanks to David DuSchane at Somerset CC for hosting the event. Final Results

BROVOLD WINS ASSISTANT'S EVENT #2
Tim Brovold from Bunker Hills GC shot 3-under par 69 at Ridges at Sand Creek to win Assistant's Event #2 and the Ray Vennewitz Cup. Finishing two strokes back and alone in second place was Chris Borgen from Hastings CC.  Tieing for third place at even par were Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC and Ben Meyers from Medina G&CC. Special thanks to Assistant's Chapter Board members Phil Olson and Tim Brovold for organizing the event along with host professionals Peer Finstand and Mike Malone at the Ridges at Sand Creek. BORGEN WINS ASSISTANT EVENT #1 AFTER EXTRA HOLES
Chris Borgen from Hastings CC won Assistant's Event #1 at Somerby GC following a sudden death playoff with Eric Rolland from Woodhill CC. Borgen and Rolland shot 1 under par 71 while Chris Bailey from North Oaks GC finished in third place with a round of even par, 72. FOUR WIN HOLIDAY STATIONSTORES APPRENTICE SCHOLARSHIP
Congratulations to Apprentice Professionals Joshua Hatch from Medina G&CC, Scott Pansch from Wilds GC, Danny Sinksen from Elmwood GC and Paul Speltz from Giant's Ridge as the inaugural recipients of the Holiday Stationstores Apprentice Scholarship. Each recipeint received $500 to help offset expenses incurred while completing the PGA Professional Golf Management Program. Special thanks to Holiday Stationstores for their support of the scholarships.

THREE WAY TIE AT THE ASSISTANT'S 6-6-6 EVENT
The teams of Scott McDonald from Windsong Farm GC and Eric Rolland from Bent Creek GC; Chris Baisch and Dan Suedbeck from Hazeltine National GC; and Ben Meyers from Medina G&CC and Scott Cole from New Richmond GC all shot 1-under par 71 at The Minikahda Club in the Assistant's 6-6-6 Event to tie for first place. Each team played six holes of Four-Ball Stroke Play, six holes of Alternate Shot and six holes of Scramble. Final Results

MEYERS WINS ASSISTANT PROFESSIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP IN PLAYOFF
Ben Meyers from Medina G&CC captured his second Callaway Golf Assistant Professional Championship today at Windsong Farm GC after a one hole, sudden death playoff with Pete LaCoursiere from Southview CC.

Joining Meyers and LaCoursiere as qualifiers for the 2011 National PGA Assistant Professional Championship in early November at PGA Golf Club are Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC, Marshall Hoiness from the Minikahda Club and Scott McDonald from Windsong Farm GC. Special thanks to local Callaway representatives Ryan Archer, Pat Scott and John Hietala for supporting the event. Final Results

BROVOLD WINS AT DACOTAH RIDGE FOLLOWING 4-WAY PLAYOFF
Tim Brovold from Bunker Hills GC, Scott McDonald from Windsong Farm GC, Matt Norgaard from Somerby GC and Brent Snyder from Troy Burne GC all shot 2-over par 74 in Assistant's Event #5. Those four went out for more golf to settle the tie and Tim Brovold emerged as the victor after a three hole sudden death playoff. ASSISTANTS CHAPTER PARTNERS WITH "BIRDIES FOR BIGS"
Once again, the Assistant's Chapter of the Minnesota Section of the PGA partnered with Big Brothers Big Sisters organization in the "Birdies for Bigs" program where a donation for each birdie made in Assistant's Chapter events in 2010 is donated to the local Big Brother's Big Sisters organization.

ERIC ROLLAND WINS ASSISTANT'S CHAMPIONSHIP
Eric Rolland of Bent Creek GC shot a 9-under par 135 to win the Minnesota Section Callaway Golf Assistant Championship at White Bear Yacht Club Monday, September 27th. Rolland, along with Eddie Wynne of StoneRidge GC, Chris Borgen of Hastings CC, Brent Snyder of Troy Burne GC and Ben Meyers of Medina G&CC will advance to the 2010 Callaway Golf PGA Assistant Professional Championship being played November 11-14 at PGA Golf Club in Port Saint Lucie, Florida. The Minnesota Section Callaway Golf Assistant Championship is sponsored by Callaway Golf and local representatives Pat Scott and Ryan Archer. Results

ERIC ROLLAND WINS MATCH PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP
Eric Rolland of Bent Creek GC defeated Eddie Wynne of StoneRidge GC 5&4 to win the 2010 Assistant's Match Play Championship at North Oaks GC. In the semifinals Rolland defeated Chris Bailey from North Oaks GC 3&2 while Wynne defeated Tim Brovold from Bunker Hills GC in 19 Holes. The Assistant's Match Play is supported by PGA TOUR.
